Black Diamond Mines Halloween Hike
October 26, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Come celebrate Halloween on the trails of Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve; costumes are optional but encouraged! Referring to an essential fuel source (coal) for the burgeoning Bay Area of the mid 1800s, Black Diamond Mines has beautiful scenery and a long-standing history of industry. The preserve traverses areas of grassland, foothill woodland, mixed evergreen forest, chaparral, stream vegetation, and exotic plantings introduced by coal miners. Be sure to bring plenty of water and a snack, and dress in layers. Sturdy shoes or hiking boots are recommended. Heavy rain cancels.
