Earlier this summer, Economic Development Director, Kwame Reed, was asked to provide information and photographs that would be incorporated into a writing competition. Chris Howard, PhD, originally from California but now resides in Wellington New Zealand, is a wine writer and anthropologist. Chris started researching ancient vine vineyards for an annual writing competition being held by Jancis Robinson who is an internationally known wine writer. The competition is called the WWC21, Wine-Writing Competition 2021, and this year a total of 136 entries were submitted and Chris Howard’s piece on our very own Evangelho Vineyard was selected to the shortlist of the top 20. This year, the WWC21 is featuring a people’s choice award where they are allowing the public to vote for three stories. This is the shortlist of stories, please vote for Chris’s story.
